The center includes six fenced-in courts and shelter structures and was funded by E-SPLOST dollars. The new facility will give students the opportunity to practice and train more efficiently.
The old tennis court was resurfaced by replacing the existing playing surface with a new layer of acrylic or an asphalt-based product. The existing layers are scraped away using specialized machines and then replaced with new material. This process involves filling any cracks and holes in the court to create an even playing field.
Sun shields were also added to the courts to keep players cool.
