The LRP Connector was part of a multi-phased project. This project was the construction of a new roadway from Mercer University to Second Street, providing quick and easy access to downtown Macon. All existing City utilities, Georgia Power transmission lines, and natural gas lines had to be rerouted to accomplish the new layout. The greatest challenge was relocating an existing 20” water line serving all of downtown Macon, including Macon’s only Level One Trauma Center. New traffic signaling was installed at major intersections.
