Boone Drive Park is a planned recreational space in Newnan, Georgia, developed by the Housing Authority of Newnan. Sheridan Construction was selected to renovate the park, delivering a new basketball court, walking path, and playground with benches and shade structures—all within an active housing authority community.

Given the occupied environment, safety was a top priority. The entire site was enclosed with fencing, and a single designated construction entrance was established to control access. Sheridan Construction also managed expectations by coordinating the relocation of existing playground equipment to another area of the city, ensuring its continued use.

One of the project’s key challenges was the installation of a post-tension slab for the basketball court, which required careful coordination between two separate subcontractors. Through meticulous planning and communication, the installation was completed seamlessly.

The project was finished ahead of schedule and within budget, with a contingency balance of $1,103.10 returned. Both the owner and architect expressed high satisfaction with the final result.
