R.I.S.E. Program
The R.I.S.E. Program—Readiness Initiative through Sheridan Education—provides educational and training opportunities to local small and minority-owned trade contractors and suppliers.
Established in 2017 by Sheridan Construction with support from the Macon-Middle Georgia Black Pages, the R.I.S.E. Program is a six-month training series designed to educate and train local trade contractors in how to successfully compete for work in the commercial construction market.
Classes typically meet February through July on the first Thursday of each month and are taught by Sheridan executives and project managers, as well as community leaders. There is no charge to participate in the program.
Typical educational topics covered include:
- Succeeding in Business
- Working with Blueprints
- Submitting a Bid
- Starting a Project
- Participating in Construction
- Closing a Project
Graduates of the program are invited back to participate in an advanced business training series that covers marketing and branding, entrepreneurship, growing a construction business, and more.
The R.I.S.E. Program is a measurable example of how companies and corporations can significantly impact the community through a win-win atmosphere that also serves as a catalyst for general economic growth.
